Scholarships and Stipends
Conference Stipends
Every year Autism Delaware provides funds to members to attend conferences, workshops or other events to increase their knowledge and skills related to autism spectrum disorders. Funds are awarded by the director on a first-come, first-served basis to members who successfully apply for the stipend. Applicants may apply for up to $250 per event which may be used for the following:
- Conference registration
- Transportation to and from the conference
- Hotel or meals
- Child care during the conference
Applicants must ask for a stipend in writing, which may be by e-mail or letter stating why they want to attend, what the stipend will pay for and that the conference is affordable for the recipient. The stipend recipient must provide proof of attendance, and Autism Delaware will reimburse the attendee following the conference. We also request that the member write an article for our newsletter, The Sun, so that information learned in the conference can be shared.
Criteria for the Conference Stipend:
- The individual or family must belong to Autism Delaware
- Funds must be available
- The applicant must agree to write a newsletter article
